Things to see and do with a rental car in Dubbo
Dubbo is tucked away inland in New South Wales, and if you’ve got some time to spare during your stay, be sure to check out some of its awesome local sights.
The Taronga Western Plains Zoo is one of the top attractions in town, and it’s where you’ll find hundreds of animal species from Australia and all over the world. The zoo offers a six-kilometre track that you can explore on foot, or by bike or golf cart – the kids will love it!
The Old Dubbo Gaol is another local attraction. This heritage-listed site operated for more than 100 years, and today you can visit to get a sense of life in Australia’s early days. Try a guided tour, or for something a little bit spooky, book yourself in for a night-time tour.
If you want to appreciate some gorgeous scenery, drive just an hour out of town to the Wellington Caves complex. This stunning natural attraction of calcite crystal formations such as coral, stalactites, and stalagmites is a definite must-see.
