Optional extras

As well as providing you with great choice for your next car hire, SIXT Australia, can also help with the added little extras to help you on your way in comfort and safety. From a GPS unit to child booster seats, we've got you covered.

Prepaid fuel

We all know how difficult it is to locate a petrol station and refuel your hire car prior to its return – especially if you’re in a hurry.

Get rid of the problem by purchasing SIXT’s prepaid fuel option. Our prepaid fuel is competitively priced against local fuel prices. When you purchase prepaid fuel, you can make the most of your time without having to worry about spending time at the petrol pump, wherever that may be!

GPS units

You may not think you need a GPS anymore thanks to smart phones but you need to be aware that the use of these devices in vehicles is subject to some stringent conditions. In addition, in a country as vast as Australia, drop-outs are not uncommon. Our GPS units are loaded with the latest maps and will ensure you get to where you need to go hassle free. Best of all, they provide advanced lane navigation so you know which lane you need to take in advance of a turn. Say goodbye to frantic cross lane driving in unknown areas!

Baby seats

Australian Standard approved baby seats are compulsory for all infants under 4 years of age, (depending on height and weight). SIXT can provide suitable forward and rear facing baby seats. We are happy to assist with installation although it remains the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure the seat’s installation meets safety guidelines. For information about legal requirements in Australia visit http://kidsafe.com.au/car-road-safety/

Conditions apply to the number of seats a vehicle can hold safely – check with us before booking your car.

Booster seats

Booster seats are compulsory for children up to 7 years (depending on height and weight). We are happy to assist with installation although it remains the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure the seat’s installation meets safety guidelines. To read the guidelines, visit http://kidsafe.com.au/car-road-safety/

Snow pass

If you are planning to travel above the snowline (deemed to be at the entrance to a National Park or where snow chains are required) you must purchase a Snow Pass.

Snow Pass is not a protection product – if you would like to reduce your liability in the event of an accident you will need to purchase Premium Protection. Not all our vehicles are suitable for snow travel. Talk to one of our helpful staff or explore our fleet for details.
