Wednesday 27 July 2022: SIXT EV fleet set to grow with the support of the NSW
Government’s Electric Vehicle Fleet Incentive.
Sixt Australia’s bid for funding as part of a NSW Government initiative to support the
transition of business car fleets fleet to electric vehicles has been successful with funding
granted to support the purchase of 20 Tesla electric vehicles.
SIXT Australia CEO, Matthew Beattie, said SIXT was proud to be expanding their EV
Network with the support of the NSW Government.
“Sixt launched in 2021 with the largest fleet of electric vehicles available for hire in
Australia, and we’re pleased to see this fleet of EV’s continue to grow with the support of
the NSW Government,” Mr Beattie said.
“This initiative will support our goal of electric vehicles for hire making up 10 per cent of our
fleet by the end of this financial year and help us on our journey to have electric vehicles
comprise 50 per cent of our car fleet in the coming years.
“Car rental companies like SIXT are big contributors to the second-hand car market in
Australia and we will play a significant part in helping to ensure more EVs appear on the
second-hand market in the years ahead.”
The Electric Vehicle Fleet Incentive is proudly funded by the NSW Government to help
private businesses, not-for-profits, and local councils across the state accelerate their
transition to EVs at a lesser cost, while lowering state transport emissions.
NRMA’s car & truck rental operations in Australia operating as SIXT Australia comprise a
fleet of over 16,000 vehicles across more than 160 locations nationwide, including a
growing fleet of electric vehicles.
