Located roughly 260 kilometres north-west of Melbourne, the Grampians is a three hour drive to an impressive sprawl of mountains and exotic scenery, ready to shake the consistent daily grind; the Grampians is well worth seeking out.<\/p>\n

To get from Melbourne to the Grampians, head west out of the city and make your way to the M8. It\u2019s an easy drive along this highway as it merges onto the A8 and heads straight for the mountains. Turn off at Ararat and follow the C222 to your destination.<\/p>\n

One of the largest waterfalls in Victoria, Mackenzie Falls is captivating in every way. Just a short drive from Halls Gap, the iconic landmark sees huge cliffs overlooking a deep, stunning gorge. Swimming is not permitted here, but there are plenty of opportunities to feel the fine sprays of water that cascades down.<\/p>\n

Grampians Estate<\/b><\/h2>\n

This award-winning winery is the perfect spot to enjoy a stop off. The vines here were planted back in the 1800s so the history is as rich as the cool-climate shiraz that is produced at Grampians Estate<\/a>. There are up to 14 wines for tasting at the cellar door, accompanied with a local cheese platter.<\/p>\n

Boroka Lookout and Reeds Lookout<\/b><\/h2>\n

These are two separate yet equally enticing vista points that help to make the Grampians a highly sort after place to visit in Victoria.<\/p>\n

The cliffside viewing platforms offer nothing but unfiltered views of mountain ranges, lakes and plains as far as the eye can see. Both require a hike, but the roads leading there are sealed making for an easy drive.<\/p>\n

Brambuk National Park and Cultural Centre<\/b><\/h2>\n

Australia\u2019s longest running Aboriginal Cultural Centre that\u2019s 100% owned and operated by the local Aboriginal people. Brush up on the history of the Grampians and experience the Brambuk National Park<\/a> in a truly immersive way \u2013 enjoy a rock art tour, a show in the Gariwerd Dreaming Theatre or tuck into some bush foods at the local cafe.<\/p>\n

Camping in the Grampians<\/b><\/h2>\n

There are numerous Grampians camping sites throughout the park for those experienced campers; or first timers.<\/p>\n

Autoclub members can save at Big 4 NRMA Halls Gap Holiday Park<\/a> stay 4 nights and only pay for 3 or save 10% on shorter stays.<\/p>\n

The Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park is particularly popular for families, young kids and couples, due to its fantastic location in the heart of the park and its modern facilities and amenities.<\/p>\n

Other options include the Lake Fyans Holiday Park, and Lake Hamilton Motor Village and Caravan Park. If you prefer to be on the mountain, you can head to the Grampians Peaks Trail with your tent. However, be sure to keep an eye on the weather on the Grampians before you commit to packing only a tent.<\/p>\n

Note that there are also two campervan parks; the Grampians Edge Caravan Park, and the Wimmera Lakes Caravan Resort.<\/p>\n
