Car hire in
Northern Ireland

I travelled to Northern Ireland on a work trip and had reserved a rental car with another provider at Belfast International Airport. However, when arriving to Nothern Ireland I was told I was too young to book a vehicle (I’m 21 years old) and had to look elsewhere. Every other provider rejected me and I had to quite urgently reserve a car as I had to drive just under 2 hours away from Belfast. I rang the Belfast International Airport Sixt branch and explained my situation over the phone. In around 10 minutes, I had my reservation booked for me and when arriving at the branch, the staff were extremely helpful on getting my details all sorted out and doing all the relevant checks. Due to being a young driver, I had to get an absolute pocket rocket of a car (a Kia Picanto) which did the job in getting me to my destination and was quite surprising on the miles per gallon it gave me. The only downside of the Kia Picanto was that I was getting overtaken by grannies in a 7 seater but you can’t get all the pros without the cons. Overall, extremely happy with the service at Sixt and will highly recommend it especially with the way they treat their customers :) Thank you to Nigel for guiding me through the process and getting it all sorted for me within half an hour.
