About Gdansk Airport
Gdansk Airport (GDN) or Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport as it is also known, is located 12km to the north west of Gdansk. Gdansk airport opened in 1974 near the village of Rbiechowo, to replace the previous airport located closer to the city centre in the suburb of Wrzeszcz. The airport itself is a short distance away to the local motorway S6 called "Obwodnica" which takes you to Gdynia Shipyard and the A1 highway which connects the port and city of Gdansk with the southern border of the country.
