It is an area of stunning natural beauty and nothing could be more rewarding than taking a small car and simply driving around the coast lines of these islands. Situated just north of the arctic circle, these islands have very few inhabitants,so peace and quiet are guaranteed, but car rental is a must. There's also the 'Lofotr Viking Museum' which is a fascinating old building that dates from ancient times and offers a unique look at Viking culture in Norway. Or perhaps try some of the sea food dishes from the area, which is good. Eating lots is also highly recommended not only to keep out the cold, but to keep you energised enough to stay up all day during the summer months when the sun still shines at midnight!

I don’t understand the bad reviews. They were friendly and flexible with our reservation. It’s a very small airport and they only come for reservations. But everything went well and the service/car were just perfect!

The overall experience at SIXT Leknes is beyond my expectation! Pros - Staff was very helpful and the entire process took not so long. - I booked two cars for 6 people: one is peugeot 5008 and another one is yaris. I got an upgrade from peugeot to go a van (Toyota Proace) which can accommodate all 6 passengers and luggages so I asked the staff to help cancel the yaris one. Even though the payment has been made, the staff is very eager to help me out and call ask his manager for advice and finally got approved. I highly appreciated! - The car I got is quite new. Nothing to complain. - The price is reasonable (except the one-way fee which is quite expensive) - The return process is easy and fast at Tromso airport. Cons - The only small con that I experienced was that when I started the van, the sign about tire pop-up and I tried to go back to SIXT counter at the airport but the staff is not there and didn't pick up the call (I understood as the Leknes is very small and there is no customer left and no flight at the time). However, I called the call center instead and he said there is no problem as it was the car adjusting to the new tire so I was relieved. In summary, I'm really happy with SIXT Leknes and definitely recommend to anyone!

Pick-Up of the car at Leknes Cruise Port went perfect. Prior Mail communication is needed to get the car delivered to the port. Instructions were precise and easy to understand. Very individual service, including insider advise.
