Located along Germany's beautiful "Green Coastal Road" in Schleswig-Holstein, this charming town is an extremely popular tourist destination, and perfect for exploring by car. The town's water tower, situated by a gorgeous lake, is one of Germany's most striking, and a much-loved local landmark. A short drive away is the home of Germany's famous composer Johannes Brahms, which has now been converted into an excellent museum. Brahams fans will also find some of the composer's letters on display at the nearby Klaus Groth Museum. Meanwhile, anyone seeking a bargain or a unique gift would be well advised to head towards the town's bustling market square, the largest in all of Germany, where an array of colourful traders and vendors will be jostling for your attention. Not far away from the market is the Shoemaker Village, at the entrance to which stands a statue of a boy cobbler. Previously dominated by the town's cobblers, the street is perfect for a relaxing stroll en route to one of the town's many highly-rated restaurants and taverns.
